How to Edit a Render Without Starting Over
How can I edit a render without starting over?
If you have already generated an image in Redraw but need to make specific adjustments, you do not need to start from scratch in every case.
At the moment, we are still developing a dedicated editing feature. In the meantime, the most recommended way to edit a render is to use the Text-to-Image feature with an appropriate model.
Which model should I use to edit a render?
For this type of editing, we recommend using the following models:
- Nano Banana Pro
- Nano Banana 2
These models usually provide better results when the goal is to adjust an already generated image.
How do I edit an already rendered image?
In the Text-to-Image feature, you can use the rendered image itself as the base for editing.
The process is simple:
- attach the generated image
- write a prompt explaining exactly what you want to change
- if you want, also add a reference image
This way, the model can interpret the original image and apply the requested changes.
What can I change?
You can request specific changes such as:
- textures
- colors
- materials
- objects
- scene elements
- small detail adjustments that were not interpreted correctly
Can I use a reference image?
Yes. If you want, you can attach a reference image together with the original rendered image.
This helps the AI better understand the style, material, color, or expected result.
How do I write a good editing prompt?
The ideal approach is to use clear and direct commands, stating exactly what the AI should do.
Some helpful keywords include:
- replace
- swap
- add
- remove
- change
- modify
Examples:
- “Replace the wooden floor with polished concrete.”
- “Swap the white wall for a concrete wall.”
- “Add decorative plants next to the sofa.”
- “Remove the lamp from the right corner.”
- “Change the cabinet color to matte black.”
Example using a reference image
If you attach a second image as a reference, you can also use instructions like:
- “Replace the bedside lamp in the first image with the lamp from the second image.”
This type of instruction helps the AI understand that it should use an element from the reference image and apply it to the main image.
What should I do when the area I want to edit is hard to identify?
When the element is in an area that is harder to describe, such as in the background of the image or in a very specific part of the scene, you can visually mark the region.
A good practice is to draw a line, circle, or colored mark on the image to indicate exactly where the change should happen.
This helps the model identify more precisely the area that needs to be edited.
Does this replace a native editing tool?
Not yet. At the moment, this is the recommended way to make adjustments to already rendered images within the platform while we continue working on a dedicated editing feature.
